Setting up on Windows CE

Setup for Windows CE

To setup a new connection:

  • Turn off the unit, plug in AC adapter and PC modem card, then turn back on
  • Click on the Start menu
  • Select Programs
  • Double-click the Communications folder and Remote Networking
  • Double-click Make New Connection
  • Type "ACCI" for the name of the connection
  • Select Dial-Up connection, click Next
  • Select a modem. The modem supplier should be listed on the drop-down menu next to the modem box. If it is not, cancel the operation, and shut down the unit. Reinsert the modem card and start this process over again.
  • Type the entire phone number into the phone number box (including area code). Make sure that the box labeled "Use area code and country code" is not checked.
  • Click the TCP/IP Settings box.
  • Select "Automatic assigned IP address"
  • Select OK and Finish to end the process.
  • Double-click on the new icon with the name you assigned to it. You will be prompted for your user name and password. You can avoid reentering the password each time by selecting the Save Password box.
  • Check that the dialing location in the right-hand box is correct and that the phone number listed is correct. Select connect. The modem should dial the number. If you encounter a problem at this point, check the phone number, your user name, and your password again and reenter if necessary.

To setup an Internet Mail account:

  • Double-click the Inbox icon on the desktop.
  • Select Compose and Options.
  • Select the Services tab.
  • Select Add and Internet Mail
  • Type "ACCI" as the name for the mail service.
  • Select the name of the Remote Networking connection that is used to access this mail service (it should be "ACCI").
  • Enter the POP server name, which is: mail.automatedcomputers.com
  • Enter your username in the User ID setting.
  • Enter your password in the password box. Select the Remember password box to avoid having to reenter the password at every log-on.
  • Enter our SMTP server name into the "Host for sending messages if different from mail host" setting. It is: mail.automatedcomputers.com
  • Select Finish.

You should be finished with the ACCI setup procedure. Try out your internet connection and if you experience any problems feel free to call our Technical Support Representatives at 410-228-0550.
